A Brief History

Legendary forensic accountant John Frenkel formed his own accountancy firm, Frenkels, in Salford Quays after the partnership split of Frenkel Topping at the turn of the 21st century. Anxious for an expert to look after the personal tax affairs of his large client base of victims of serious personal injury, John recruited Sharon Nash (ex-Inland Revenue, Gruber Levinson Franks and Baker Tilly) as personal tax associate to join forces with his accounts & audit associate Mark Burgess, whom he had recruited from D A Williamson & Co.

In May 2007 the firm moved to the Lancastrian Office Centre in Old Trafford.

The firm has remained at a consistent size of around eight directors and staff, and continues to concentrate on dealing with its key client sectors:

  • Owner managed businesses and their owners
  • Victims of serious personal injury
  • Creative industries and the arts
  • Other accountancy practices needing specialist tax consultancy advice
